Snohomish 150th Anniversary Exhibit

The Snohomish 150th Anniversary Committee has put up a display window at the Snohomish Library. The display runs through the month of January and again for the month of March. This small window into our past celebrates new and old history.

"History is made every day, just give it time" said Todd Elvig the architect of this month's library window. Contributions from local families and the Snohomish Historical Society made the display possible.

The theme is meant to celebrate the 150 years of Snohomish's history, from the picture of Snohomish in 1859 to an image looking down from the new Glacier Peak Grizzlies Stadium 2008. The exhibit also includes a smattering of images from those years and a few objects like, a vintage Fireman's hat and a couple of box cameras.

All in it seems to be a very fun exhibit and very interesting to look at. See it soon before it goes away January 30.

Don't forget the kickoff of the City of Snohomish's 150th Anniversary Celebration. The committee has planned a salute and rally that will begin at Noon on Friday, January 9th at the Snohomish Library, 310 Maple. Following the salute you are invited to join the car procession through historic downtown Snohomish traveling to the Snohomish County Campus Plaza in Everett via the Lowell-Snohomish River Road arriving at 1pm where Mayor Hamlin of the City of Snohomish will ceremoniously ask the leaders of the City of Everett and Snohomish County to return the county seat and records to its name sake and rightful owner the City of Snohomish.
